Top Money Quotes For Wise Traders

I love great quotes. They inspire, motivate, encourage, give direction… especially those from famous businessmen, thinkers, and celebrities.

Below are some of my favorite money quotes.

I hope they can help you change your attitude towards money in a positive way. If you’re having money troubles, check out credit card consolidation.

Will Rogers

Too many people spend money they earned..to buy things they don’t want..to impress people that they don’t like.

Benjamin Franklin

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.

Jonathan Swift

A wise person should have money in their head, but not in their heart.

Warren Buffett

I will tell you the secret to getting rich on Wall Street. You try to be greedy when others are fearful. And you try to be fearful when others are greedy.

Arthur Schopenhauer

Wealth is like sea-water; the more we drink, the thirstier we become; and the same is true of fame.

Donald Trump

Money was never a big motivation for me, except as a way to keep score. The real excitement is playing the game.

Jim Rohn

Polish proverb

When I had money everyone called me brother.

Money is a guarantee that we may have what we want in the future. Though we need nothing at the moment it insures the possibility of satisfying a new desire when it arises.

Will Rogers

Money and women are the most sought after and the least known about of any two things we have.

Peter Lynch

Jim Rohn

Financial peace isn’t the acquisition of stuff. It’s learning to live on less than you make, so you can give money back and have money to invest. You can’t win until you do this.

It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor.

Norman Vincent Peale

Empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that.

Paul Samuelson

Investing should be more like watching paint dry or watching grass grow. If you want excitement, take $800 and go to Las Vegas.

Robert Kiyosaki

It’s not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you, and how many generations you keep it for.

Albert Einstein

Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.

In trading, your lust for money will lure you into making decisions you’ll eventually regret. And I think the general theme behind these quotes is rather clear: If you hate money, it will be very difficult to you to make (and keep) money. If you worship money, it will be very difficult for you to be happy.

So you need to improve the relationship you have with money — you must learn to understand it, appreciate it, yet not get too attached to it, and finally, you need to learn to spend it wisely.

Only when you change your attitude towards money (and wealth in general) can you allow yourself to receive it; only then can it fulfill you.

But what’s your favorite money quote? Let me know in the comment section.

I've been trading for a living since 2006. By merging mindfulness (an in-depth study of the mind and its tendencies in the present moment), a good trading process, and an efficient business practice, I went from being a losing trader to a consistently profitable one. Through my work here at Trading Composure, I aim at helping you do the same.
